Didn't enjoy this as much as her other books. Rather slow and predictive.

I was really excited when browsing through the kindle store and noticed there was an Anna Jacobs book that i had not read. I purchased it and it was on my Kindle in seconds. When i started to read it i recognised the characters almost immediatley and searched through the Anna Jacobs books i had already read. This book is the same story as the book titled 'A forbidden Embrace'. Although it was a brilliant book, i was gutted to purchase it yet again with a different title! Be warned everyone else. I love Anna Jacobs books but i feel there should be some information on the kindle listing that this was previously in hardback format with another title.

Brilliantly written and difficult to put down - needs willpower. I like all her books but this is definitely one of best, if only there were more writers like her.If you like Audrey Howard and/or Rita Bradshaw you will love this.

easy reading for holidays easy to put down and pick up again, too many words required for a quick revue

I enjoyed reading this book. Was pleased to find an Anna Jacobs book that I hadn't read. A book that improved my vocabulary.Being historically based many words used with which I was not familiar, so on Kindle can use Dictionary with press of button. So apart from a very pleasant read it has been an educational one too.

This book brings to life the historical ssituation, estate owners, employment of servants and the conditions of poorer people. The story is very absorbing; I could not put it down.
