Quite an enjoyable read. Pretty formulaic romance (you know pretty much what you're getting, no surprises) but often with romance that's exactly what you're looking for. It's easy to read, fairly well written (a few formatting/spelling errors have still crept through but not as bad as in some) and the characters are quite fun. She's sweet, he's dashing, there's a boat and a dastardly step brother. Every now and then I got an uncomfortable twinge when the author kept on about how young she looks and that she's 'nearly 18' (yes, making her 17. 17 is pretty young) but actually it was pretty common in those days to get married at 17 so you just need to go with it. Giving it 3 stars as it was a perfectly acceptable romance, easy to read and enjoyable. It's not War and Peace, but hey, do you want it to be?

This book was overall a good read. The story was interesting and I enjoyed it, but I have to say that the part when she was hiding him in the cave dragged on a bit too long for my personal preference. In addition, the end seemed a bit rushed.
